The 2nd game of the F23 Over30 Legends semifinals saw Harry’s Bloodline matched up with Chas’ Hot Goyle. Goyle found themselves with the 2 seed through a combination of great defense and depth whereas Harry’s squad has lived or died on the performance of the big 3 of Cawley, Frongi and Liam. Bloodline pulled off an upset in round 1 thanks to some late game heroics from Frongi and Harry would need his core contributors to perform strongly in order to take down Chas and company. Chas would be missing 6th man Perry Hull, who has been a key piece defensively and on the glass whereas Harry had his whole squad.
Starting things off, Liam was playing well for Bloodline, getting to the rim for layups and crashing the offensive glass for putbacks. Prior to the game, CAC media had labeled Liam as the X-factor and he was coming through for Bloodline. Goyle got on the board thanks to Weinstein’s midrange game and Jake hitting a 3. Cawley and Liam continued to score for Bloodline and Luigi had some nice minutes for Goyle, cashing a long range 2 and converting a nice post move on Harry. After a tough Cawley and-1 finish Bloodline was trailing by 9. Jeffries was playing well running the point for Goyle, finding shooters as well as hitting a 3 and a midrange to keep Goyle’s lead at 8. Liam got called for his third foul early and would have to come out and Cawley would continue to play well, getting to the line and getting another big and-1 at the rim. Luigi made a great play to close out the half, getting a steal at midcourt which led to an easy layup. Goyle went into the half up 11.
Coming out of half, Cawley hit a 3 and Weinstein answered with a 3 of his own. Cawley would go on to have an electric 2nd half, scoring nearly all of Bloodline’s points and cooking Goyle as a whole. Despite this, Goyle would maintain their lead for most of the 2nd half. Jeffries was on fire shooting, being a perfect 5/5 from three at one point, which kept Goyle around an 8 or 10 point lead. Harry and Luigi started jawing back and forth and Luigi had a nice and-1 finish in the post. Cawley was an absolute bucket and was hitting everything, clawing his team back into the game. With 2 minutes left, the Goyle lead had shrunk to 5. After a Harry timeout, Bloodline would foul and put Weinstein and Jeffries to the line, where they would both miss. Frongi and Cawley would hit some free throws on the other end and the lead was down to 3. Weinstein got a bucket, and on the other end Frongi found himself wide open at the top of the key. He let it fly and it seemed like the whole gym knew it was going in. It was Frongi’s only field goal of the game, but it was a huge one. With the lead now at 1, Jake went to the free throw line and hit both, Goyle up 3. Coming down the other end Goyle left Harry wide open and he made them pay, splashing the captain 3 to tie the game. Bloodline then forced a turnover and had a chance to win as time expired but Cawley couldn’t convert and we went to OT.
In overtime, Goyle won the tip and would get two quick buckets from MJ and Weinstein to put Bloodline down 5. Cawley got a bucket but Jake and Weinstein scored on the other end to maintain the 5 point lead. After some Weinstein and MJ free throws, Cawley hit a clutch 3 to cut the lead to 3. Bloodline would have to foul at this point, and Liam would foul out. Despite another late Cawley 3, Goyle would put it away at the free throw line and hold on to win by 3. Chas and Goyle return to their 4th straight Over30 finals appearance, to face Mazz, Ian and the Corp.

Cawley A+ 55 point game on mostly 2s, Goyle could not guard him at all. Also added 5 blocks
Liam B+ played well on both ends. Had to come out at a bad time tho, after getting in foul trouble
Harry A clutch shot and was great on the boards and passing the ball.
Frongi B- hit the one clutch shot, but was quiet otherwise.
Carey C- couldn’t get any shots to fall
Danner C+ didn’t score but had some rebounds and assists
Goyle
Chas B didn’t score, but the leadership and coaching was there
Luigi A great game from big Lu, won the matchup with Harry
Weinstein A hit some big shots and shot efficiently.
MJ A+ his best game this season in a big spot. Put the game away at the free throw line and 5/6 from 3
Jake B+ the scoring was there but dinging the grade for defense.

Game 1 of Week 9 featured 6-2 Dirty Amir and the Boys taking on 3-5 Bloodline. DA has played consistently well this session, driven by an MVP caliber campaign from Kap, who is averaging 22/9/6. Bloodline has a somewhat disappointing record given the level of talent possessed by Harry’s big 3 of Cawley, Frongi and Liam. Bloodline would have everyone available and would be in a good spot as Frano and his 12/13 per game was out for DA.
Cawley kicked things off with a jumper and things would go back and forth between both teams early on. Harry splashed a 3 for Bloodline and Frongi, Liam and Cawley all got on the board. For DA, Kap was doing a good job finding Cody and Erik for threes and Cody was getting to the free throw line. Kap was active on both ends, cashing a deep three as well as swiping a steal at midcourt which led to a layup. Erik especially was lights out for DA, and he would hit four first half threes. The game was even throughout the first half and Frongi had a nice and-1 finish for Bloodline to tie the game at 36 with time nearly expired but Erik would top that with a buzzer beater three to give DA a 39-36 lead heading into the break.
Frongi began the second half scoring 6 straight for Bloodline but DA would respond with Erik hitting two more threes to keep it even. The second half saw Cawley playing well for Bloodline but DA building a slight lead due to hot shooting from deep. Frongi hit a 3 to get within three, but DA would keep the lead and a huge 3 from Ben would put things out of reach. DA would ice things at the line and improve to 6-3. Bloodline drops to 2-6 and this sets the stage for a round 1 rematch between these two squads in the playoffs.
DA
Kap A one assist shy of a triple double
Amir B+ 2-6 from deep and played well defensively
Ben A great defense as usual and hit a clutch 3
Cody B+ had a great first half, faded 2nd half and seemed frustrated
EJ – A 6 threes!
Bloodline
Cawley B 17/10 is a decent line but it feels like he has more
Harry C pretty mid game from Harry
Frongi A played well on both sides of the ball
Danner B hit a three in limited minutes
Liam A played his role well
Carey C- 0-8 from three, couldn’t get it to fall
