Bohna 3, but Civale gets the roll. The Randalls would fight back as Randall 1-2, Wein j, Marlier J, Randall 3, but a big captain ian 3 made it 34-30 at the break.

Game 2 of the final week of regular season play was EJ’s last place team taking on Randalls squad who entered the week at 3-5 on a two game losing streak. Erik’s team would once again be shorthanded, missing MJ and Eloi. Randall was missing Luigi, but still had a big size advantage with Murphy and Bohnaker in attendance.

Weinstein and EJ traded threes to open the game. Murphy got a post bucket and Randall hit a pair of free throws. Casey went on a one-man run, outscoring Randall’s team 10-4 by himself. Erik hit a pair of threes and Etheridge got some nice runners to open up a lead. Thanks to more buckets from Casey and Eth, EJ’s team held on to 10ish point lead for the remainder of the first half, and went into the break up 11, 37-26. Casey led all scorers with 20 first half points. Weinstein led Randall’s team with 11 first half points.

Ben Mitchell hit a three to open the half and Casey continued his strong game. Randall’s team was not making shots but was doing a good job of getting to the free throw line to prevent the game from getting out of reach. Etheridge and Casey continued to get through the bigs on Randall’s team and were playing a great two man game, each finding the other for assists off their drives. EJ’s lead expanded to 15, the largest of the game at this point. The lead would never drop below 10 and Erik’s team pulls off an impressive shorthanded win. Not to state the obvious but despite being the last seed, this is not a team you want to match up against in the playoffs if Casey and Eth are playing at this level.

EJ

Casey A+ 35/24/8 if this is a preview of playoff Casey – watch out

Eth A consistent bucket getting and did a great job passing out of doubles

Mitchel B+ solid minutes, the jumpshot isn’t pretty, but it was going in!

EJ B not a great shooting split but got some big ones to fall

Randall

Weistein A cant ask much more from Mike as he comes off injury

Murphy C average game, couldn’t been more assertive

Bohnaker C same as above

Randall D zero field goals made is rough, he will look to bounce back in the playoffs

Marlier C had a nice steal but the shot wasn’t falling

Game 3 of week 6 featured 2-3 Iron Ball, led by Jet, taking on Randall’s team. Jet’s team has been looking to build momentum off a win over a shorthanded Kodra Kai whereas Randall’s team at 2-3 has been looking to establish themselves as a contender in the league. Randall was missing a key piece and leading scorer in Weinstein, who has a wrist injury. Jet had his full team available.

Both teams traded blows early on, with Frano and Roberts getting buckets for Jet and Randall notching his team’s first 5 points. Luigi hit a big three for Randall but Jet held on to a 3 point lead. Bohnaker had a big stretch where he hit two threes and a baseline jumper which tied the game. Murphy got his first points after cleaning the offensive glass. Randall hit a three and Frano had two late buckets to keep it event and at the half the game was tied 25-25.

Roberts opened the second half splashing a three and Marlier contributed off the bench with a bucket. Roberts had a big stretch where he scored 6 straight for his team, but was matched by Luigi and Bohnaker. Luigi was playing very well, being disruptive on defense as well as getting to the rim on the left side. Amir also contributed a crucial three for his team as the game remained tight. Both teams got into foul trouble early, and Frano hit 4 straight free throws as we approached the two minute mark.

With his team down by 1, Jet had a great play where he forced a jump ball that gave his team the ball. He then had a tough reverse lay-up on the ensuing possession to put his team up by 1. On the other end Luigi had another clutch play, getting a big and-1 finish and converting the free throw to put his team back up by 2. More clutch Lu ensued as he stole the inbound pass and out it up for a layup. In a game with a string of clutch plays, Jet had another one as he hit his only three of the game to keep the deficit at 1. Murphy hit the front end of a one and one but missed the second and Frano got the rebound and got the ball to Jet who had a back breaking turnover. Murphy and Boahnker would hit late fre throws and Bohnaker sealed the game by stealing another inbound pass and layup it up. Randall gets a much-needed win without Weinstein. 63-57.

Randall

B+ impressive game scoring, rebounding and passing, but his free throws were very off

B+ not a dominant scoring game, but clutch free throw shooting to close it out

Bohnaker A effecitent shooting and had the game sealing play

Luigi A big game from Big Lu on both ends. Very clutch

Marlier A solid contribution off the bench. Liked him hitting a three

Jet

Jet B- quiet game until the heroics at the end, but had an equally costly turnover late

Roberts B+ steady, did his thing, good defensively as well

Los C- had more fouls than counting stats

Amir C nice dime and hit a three

Dias B love the effort and energy but the three point shot was way off

Frano A good job scoring inside and at the free throw line
