Game 2 of week 9 was a matchup with some playoff seeding on the line as Chas’ 4-4 Shooter McGavins took on Cundall’s 5-3 Ther is Hope. Ian had everyone available. Chas was in a tough spot, missing Eth (congrats on the baby!) Eloi, and leading scorer Shebertes. Cundall graciously let CAC legend Matt Roberts fill in, who has won a couple seasons of this league with Chas. Would this generosity cost Ian?
Danner got the first points off a jumper and Roberts was impacting the game immediately making great passes and getting 2nd chance points off offensive rebounds. Dias and Liam scored for TIH and Hammond scored 7 straight for SM and his team had a 4 point lead. Hammond and Roberts continued to apply pressure for SM and Fasano was able to stop the bleeding with a tough and-1 finish at the rim. Fasano would have 5 more first half points but it was Gregg Dennis who was getting to the rim and free throw line to even the score for TIH. Roberts was cooking Marquis off the left shoulder in the post and going into the half the score was tied 25-25. Roberts led all scorers with 14 first half points.
Hammond and Liam traded baskets to start the second half and Roberts had a couple more nice post buckets. Dias was doing work for TIH and TIH was on an 8-0 run. Chas was visibly frustrated as his shot was not falling and he was not getting foul calls. Hammond stopped the bleeding with a filthy step back 3. Cundall followed this up with 7 straight points included two threes and a nice layup on a fast break which may have been a travel. Hammond once again drilled a three to stop the run. This game had a ton of energy and felt like a playoff game. Dennis continued to rack up assists and TIH kept the score close. Roberts hit a three to add to his monster performance. Liam had a steal but turned the ball over on the ensuing fast break which led to Chas finally getting a clutch three to drop. Liam went to the free throw line and nailed both to put his team up by 2 with two minutes left. Roberts got a clutch bucket to tie the game and the final minute ticked off the clock with Ian choosing not to foul. SM did not score and TIH only had 3 seconds to get a shot up. Dennis’ attempt did not hit and we went to OT.
In OT, Roberts repeatedly got to the free throw line and was absolutely clutch, making 5 of seven, but the key play was Danner grabbing an offensive rebound with less than a minute in OT to secure the win. The win puts Shooters as the three seed and TIH drops to the 5 seed.

Game 2 of week 8 was Cundall’s Ther is hope, sans Ian, taking on Skelley’s Overhated 2.0, who had everyone available. TIH entered the week at 5-2 and OH was 4-3. When these teams met in week 1, TIH cruised to a 16 point victory, with every player scoring double figures, granted OH was missing a key piece with Frano being out.
Frano opened the scoring with a midrange bucket and Dias was hitting jumpers and getting to the rim for TIH. Worth hit his first 3 three point attempts and was on his way to big game. Frano got two more mid ranges to fall but Liam had the answer with a three to tie the game at 15 with 11:00 left in the half. Gilles and Worth hit back to back threes for OH and this was a competitive game as neither team could build a lead. OH went into the half up 28-26.
Liam drilled another 3 to kick off the second half and TIH made a big run, led by Dias. He hit two threes and had nice finish in the paint off an offensive rebound. Dennis added some nice finishes and Peteet hit a three for OH to stop the bleeding. Kielley had a nice drive plus a foul and after a Worth and-1, OH was able to stabilize and tie the game at 50 all. Skelley and Marquis traded big man buckets and Frano turned it on down the starch with two late baskets, one off of an offensive rebound and with 1:00 left, OH had a two point lead. Dias had another big time tough bucket on a drive but TIH was would send Worth to the line, where he would make both free throws. After a Dias miss, Frano once again controlled an offensive rebound and OH put it away at the free throw line. OH wins a tough, exciting game to improve to 4-4. TIH remains in second place in the standing at 5-3
OverHated
Kielley B- scoring was down, but played solid defense and had a big bucket late
Frano A clutch performance and had some big time offensive boards
Worth A led all scorers and was efficient. Made heady plays running the offense
Peteet B+ solid minutes off the bench led the team in assists
Gilles B- limited minutes, hit a three
Skelley C had his hands full with Dennis and said he was injured
TIH
Liam B average game, tough day from deep
Dennis A- did some of everything
Marquis B+ looked much improved from early on in the season, he is putting the ball on the ground way more and looking to get to the basket
Dias A another big gutsy performance, Dias plays much bigger than his size and is great on the glass
Fasano C- didn’t seem engaged, this team needs him to be more of a factor

TIH VS LIL D “ TIH, Gives us all Hope as LIL goes down”
Civale fill in post bucket right away, Cody walk in lay up, Cody splash 3 7-0 who needs Caey? Liam 3, dias floater, ian obrd to tie things at 7. Civale 3, Laim to rack but Tommy rhythm 3, Liam 2-2, Dias gets roll 13 all. Civale 3, Tommy wet 3, Cody and 1, Cody 3, ian ? his fill in approval 25-13. Ian post, Dias trey 27-18. Tommy nice backdoor cut, Fasano and 1, Ian middy, ian spinning post move 29-25. Civale keeps them at bay with a 3. Dias 3 right back at him, Dias gets 2 in the lane 32-20. Tommy red hot another trey. Dennis would get hot, hit 2 3’s, and the half would end 40-38.
Tommy 3 trying to get that MVP, but Denniss big mans his way for 2, Ian 3 new ball game at 43. Dias/Civale trade 3’s, but Ian started to eat downlow. Cody freezes Ian with hesi, for smooth lay in. Laim 2 after steal, ian 2 aftr steal, Liam 3, Dias 1-2, laim rack as TIH put their foot on the gas pedal and nver looks back, Liam with 22 2nd half points, Ian would add 12, and they get a big 5th win 87-74.
