The third cap of the night we had two good teams going head to head. Clever Trevor’s Vs Intramural Heroes. CT didn’t have their number one player in Jack Fay this week. Tony Caletti knew he would have to take on an extra load with out him. Intramural Heroes who I feel like have been underperforming this season were looking to go into the playoffs with a victory. So as expected the game was close to start. Tim Gallivan was just launching threes the second the tip happened. They also only had five guys including Cedric White who had a brace on his right wrist. The game was 12-12 in the first 10 minutes. After coming out of a timeout is where IH really came alive. Tim was being so aggressive on the scoring front of things. He ended up with 18 in the half which led both teams. This was also due to his teammates setting him up as the whole team had 8 in the first half. They managed to outscore CT 25-11 after they were tied at 12. IH goes into the second half up 14 37-23. Tony wasn’t getting much help from his teammates on the scoring front as 4 players finished the half with 2 points or less. Tony led his team with 12.
The second half was just a beat down from IH. CT was really missing the scoring from Jack as they struggled to score without him. IH went on a 13-4 run to extend the lead to 23. CT called a timeout to try to talk things over, but it seemed like they kind of were checked out of the game. IH just continued to score and out rebound CT 47-28. The run extended to 22-6 and there wasn’t much time left and IH just was having fun out there. Ed Bernstein tried to help tony as much as he could scoring 12 points which was the second highest for CT. Final score 66-33, which if my records are correct that is the biggest margin of victory this season.
IH couldn’t have had a better way to end the regular season than this game. It was probably the best they played all year on both sides of the ball. It was the opposite for CT, it was the worst they played all year. But that’s okay for them as they can gear up for the playoffs next week and redeem themselves.

Clever Trevors against Commando was the second cap of the night, and this was one of the ones I was most excited for. Commando is a great all-around team and then CT has the top duo in the league in Jack Fay and Tony Caletti. It was Commando in control right from the tip. CT was very sloppy with turnovers and bad passes. It almost looked like they were running in mud for the first 5 minutes. Which is an odd site for this team. Commando went on an early 12-3 run then took it to 22-8. Jackie ( I don’t have his last name yet because he hasn’t been added to the list so please add him lol) was balling and couldn’t miss from deep. He hits 6 threes in the half. Commando was having one of the best halves on offense that I have seen so far in this league. They weren’t missing shots. Max Heinrich and Brusch were scoring as well. Tony seemed to be the only one scoring for CT as Jack only had 3 points in the half which was his lowest of the season. C had 47-29 lead over CT to end the half. Commando had 11 steals in the first half. CT didn’t seem too panicked as they know in the game of basketball a lead can shrink fast.
The second half Commando was in control just like the first for the first 6 minutes or so. Trevor Britton was catching firing for CT from the 3 point as well which helped shrink the lead a tad. Commando was leading 54-37 with 14 minutes left. Again, there was no panic from CT as they knew with Jack and Tony, they can get points quickly. They did just that. They proceeded to go on 13-2 run. Jack ended up coming alive during this stretch which is what they needed. Max was being very aggressive for Commando though taking shots close to the basket while trying to find some open teammates. They were collapsing though. They had just a one point lead with just two minutes to go. Commando was able to get some free throw chances and took advantage of them down the stretch. CT had the chances to tie the game multiple times but unfortunately the shots just didn’t fall and the massive deficit from the first half was just too much to overcome. Commando wins 68-63.
Commando just continues to find ways to get wins and they move up to the second seed on the season. They will have a great matchup against T2 who is coming off a loss and will be hungry to get a victory. CT is in the middle of the pack when it comes to standings but will be going against the winless team Them and will look to get back in the win column next week.
