Going into the semifinals Fast PP, 1st seed, versus Wolf & Co who are the 5th seed. A lot at stake for both teams as they both obviously want to win. Starting off the game, Wolf & Co won the tip and Victor immediately looked to score trying a mid-range pull up but couldn’t fall. Watching both teams play, you could really feel the intensity in the gym, everyone wanted to win and everyone was playing great defense. Wolf & Co was the first to call a timeout with 9 minutes and 44 seconds left on the clock. Fast PP came out of the timeout on a different team. They went on a 10-1 run in 7 minutes. Alex on Fast PP played a very impressive first half hitting 3 3-pointers. However, Victor was determined and closed the lead going into the 2nd half at 13-18 (Fast PP leading).

In the 2nd half, Wolf & Co came out ever better, they went on an 8-0 run in 5 minutes. Noticeably Victor and Austen, they had a great chemistry of playing together, trapping, getting steals, deflections, and overall moving the ball around. Fast PP were struggling to hit shots in the 2nd half and started getting into foul trouble. They struggled on getting an offense going and getting passes inside the paint. Wolf & Co definitely had a lot more big men than Fast PP so it was tougher to get some offensive rebounds for Fast PP. Although it may be considered a low scoring game, it definitely was entertaining to watch as both teams played their hardest. Fast PP played great all season, but unfortunately fell short in the playoffs. A huge upset win for Wolf & Co.

Fast PP:

Zack: 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists.

Alex: 9 points & 6 rebounds.

Wolf & Co

Austen: 6 points, season high 17 rebounds, 11 rebounds in the 1st half. Austen absolutely dominated on the boards.

Victor: Season High 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals. Everytime Victor got the ball he looked to score, but also played very good defense, shifting his feet, and not hacking.

The last but not least Fast PP versus Hacream Thabeet. I thought the previous game before had a crazy buzzer beater, but this game was also insane. Both teams started the game off strong, just trading buckets back and forth. Moving the ball around, everyone getting touches before the shot went up in the first half. The first half of the game was super close, 20-21 with Hacream Thabeet winning by 1.

In the second half, Fast PP began to take the lead as Hacream Thabeet began to miss shots. Yudkovich on Fast PP was everywhere on the court, playing impressive defense. He had 5 steals all within the 2nd half of the game. Alex on Fast PP was beginning to get frustrated with the no calls from the refs as well. It looked like Hacream Thabeet began to fall apart as players began forcing unnecessary shots, dribbling into 2 defenders, and they weren’t passing the ball around as much as they did in the first half, given that they were only down 5 points with 4 minutes left in the game.

With a little of Devin’s pep talks, they were able to bring the game back to 36-36 with 21 seconds on the clock. A timeout was called by Hacream Thabeet at 9 seconds. With an inbounds pass to Simon, Simon dribbled to the middle, and shot a 3 pointer to take the lead. 39-36. Fast PP then called a timeout to stop the clock at 2.7 seconds. Fast PP needed a hail mary to send the game to OT. The ball was passed to Andrew, Andrew caught the ball at half court, dribbled, did a spin move and shot the ball near the volleyball line and the shot went in and out. It was a great shot attempt by Andrew. The final score was 39-36 Hacream Thabeet with the win. Zack on Fast PP finished with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Siva on Hacream Thabeet finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 3-pointers. Simon finished with 3 points, 9 rebounds, and a game winner.

With the second game of the night Wolf and Co versus Fast PP. Alex on Fast PP started the game off hot. Having the first 7 points for fast PP in the first 5 minutes of the game. He had a 3 pointer and 2 mid-ranges. Wolf and Co also had a hot start, Austin on Wolf and Co had a mismatch but they couldn’t capitalize on it. Both teams began to get into a slump after the hot start, specifically Wolf and Co. They started off strong but they began to miss more shots than Fast PP. Zack on Fast PP had picked up 4 fouls in the first half. All within 10 minutes, which was very unfortunate for him because he would’ve had a chance to score a lot more. However, His team was able to keep the lead with the first half coming to an end with the score being 13-24.

Going into the 2nd half, Wolf and Co’s goal was to draw fouls on Zack to get him fouled out. However, Zack did not go in until later into the 2nd half, most likely so he could close out the game. In the 2nd half, both teams were trading buckets back and forth, however, Wolf and Co weren’t able to close the gap. It was a tough game for Wolf and Co. as it was an off night for them. Tyler on Wolf and Co played a great game, making some tough layups. Tyler finished the game with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Alex on Fast PP had a great game himself as well, ending with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and also scoring the first 7 points for his team.

The last but not least McBucket of Nuggets versus Fast PP. It's always a pleasure watching the OG’s play because they surprise me each time. I noticed early on in the game Tom and Zack were getting physical with each other and pushing each other. McBucket of Nuggets have a great chemistry with each other. They know how to move the ball around and play off each other. In the first half McBucket of Nuggets did not commit 1 single foul. When the 1st half ended, the score was 22-17 with Fast PP in the lead.

In the 2nd half, Fast PP played a fast-paced game, pushing and running down the court every chance they got. Fast PP went on a run and scored 13 points 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Fast PP played extremely good defense, having 17 steals as a team compared to McBucket of Nuggets 4 steals. With the steals Fast PP were able to convert them into points at the other end. Ilya had 6 steals himself and 5 assists. Although he may not score a lot, you can count on him to play great defense. He reminds me of Jose Alvarado in the NBA being able to get steals so easily. With all the steals Fast PP was able to extend the lead and finish the game 53-36.

On Fast PP Eric Shaw finished with 18 points, scoring a of his points in the paint and driving in. Andrew Zaccardi finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Andrew Zaccardi made 4 3-pointers. One play I remember, Zaccardi got a steal, brought the ball down and hit a step back 3-pointer, it was an insane heat-check. On Mcbucket of Nuggets, Tom Hamel finished the game with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
