Even though the TAP All Stars began the game with 4 players, and were without Steve - this ended up being a cakewalk for them. The machine keeps rolling on. Thank You University struggled to keep the lead down and it felt like every posession that TAP had, they got a shot they wanted to take. Gary and big man Nick led the way in scoring - especially with Gary hitting 4 straight threes towards the end of the first half. Tap rolls on and gets the win 66-35.

We had a thrilling finish to the night in our final game as Corner 3 took on Thank You University. Final score was 41-40 as TYU took home the dub, but I have to say.... make your damn free throws! A team called Corner 3 only hit two threes on the night and got cursed mid game by KD. Nick, who is normally a great shooter and FT shooter, was 2-3 from the line when KD said something (not sure what he said but it looked funny) to Nick about free throws. From that point on.... Corner 3 shot 5-14 from the line and lost by 1. I am not a math major, but this is not good. It was such a good game too, and it of course ended with Corner 3 at the free throw line with a chance to tie and make everyone's night longer than it should have been. But the free throw rimmed out and the game ended 41-40. This was a great win for TYU as they had to grind and probably thought they had lost this game at one point. But they stuck together and made all the right plays down the stretch to go home with the win.

Market Baskets took on TYU in the 3rd matchup of the night. This was a pretty tame affair, not much drama in this one. Both teams played well, especially from beyond the arc, but the Market Baskets defense proved to be the key to victory. With TYU up 27-21 at half, they felt in control of the game. But the second half scoring in favor of the Market Baskets was 34-15. A dominant 2nd half led by Doug and Dylan ensured the Market Baskets took this one home. Both teams were missing some key players and I can see this matchup being a lot closer the next time they square off.

First of all, credit to TYU for showing up and getting the job done even though they were missing some players. They were aggressive on the boards and get everyone involved in the scoring. Very solid defensively too and totally deserved the win last night. Now, moving on to Conway.... This team is so fun and so frustrating to watch at the same time. Missing arguably their best player, I was going to give them a pass for getting destroyed... but they don't get the pass. For some reason they came out in a 2-3 zone.. or was it a 3-2 zone? Either way, TYU just kept firing wide open threes, which they were knocking down. And when they didn't knock it down, they would simply grab the offensive rebound and try again like it was nothing. Conway continues to turn the ball over for fun and refuses to rebound. They stuck around after the game for about an hour in a heated (seemingly productive) debate about their defensive issues. They asked KD and myself for advice lol. For one, they need Dahla to shoot more, and they need to either fix their zone or go back to man. And of course, stop turning the ball over!! They have lost some really close games due to turnovers. Excited to see them back in action next week.
