Last game of the night due to the early forfeit called canceling the nine o’clock game. The Heroes I’m told is looking for a win that hasn’t been lacking in the win column. Davidson is off to a quick start but looses his grip while making a move and falls face first to the hard wood. Treys for days is all over the boards and making it hard for The Heros to get anything inside which leads to the first called time out of the night. Santilli comes to the game in his boxers but with no shame is still able to put the ball in the hoop making a nice three to help his team to a halftime lead. I’m not sure what the halftime speech was for The Heros but whatever it was it sparked a fire under their butt and got them to close the gap and tie the game at 37. After going zero for four Connor finally make a three and it is looking good for /the Hero’s to maybe get a win tonight but they have to close the deal. Just as I type this the wheels start to come off for the Hero’s as they can’t make a bucket, and the defense is slipping with time running out. Tim goes to the line and makes one out of two free throws to make the score 49 to 55 and they need quick scores now if they are going to come back. Connor blows two wide open layups and Santilli nails a three on the other end which cancels any chance of the Hero’s getting the win.

Game 3 of the evening featured Treys For Days versus the Clever Trevors in what was a competitive affair. The Clevor Trevors came out of the gates looking quite smart, opening up an 11-4 lead in the first 9 minutes behind some slick shooting and clear control of the boards on both ends. To this point, the Trevors ended up finishing with 5 different players who had 4 or more rebounds, a pretty substantial feat that speaks to how this team does team rebounding and hustles on the glass.
Treys for Days took a well-timed timeout with 11 minutes to go in the first quarter, down 7, and searched for points and scoring wherever they could find it. The timeout was beneficial for a few possessions as they came out more composed, led by Dana Flood’s hustle and distribution and Collin Yip’s scoring. Yip had touch all night finishing with 12 points and also contributed with 7 rebounds, while Flood filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 3 steals, 1 block, 3 offensive rebounds, and 2 defensive.
That being said, the Clever Trevors just had too much shooting for Treys For Days to handle, especially in the first half. Sharpshooter Tony Caletti had 6(!) three pointers in the first half, shooting off the dribble, off of pin down screens, and off of kickouts - the green light was very much on for him. He wouldn’t make a three pointer in the 2nd half, but would find ways to contribute in other ways to help them get the victory. With Caletti’s 6 three pointers in tow, the Clever Trevors went into halftime up 30-16.
The 2nd half was a more methodical game, with the Trevors’ shooting success subsiding to a certain degree, but at the same time their defensive effort ratcheted up. Treys for a Days would make a run, closing the gap to 5 points, down 38-33, when the Trevors took their first timeout of the 2nd half. From this point on, the Trevors were back on their A game and closed the game out strong, finishing with a 54-43 victory.

Game 4 of this week’s edition of Wednesday Night Hoops with the CAC featured “Treys for Days” vs “Leonard and the Boys” in a compelling nightcap matchup. George Thissel of Treys for Days put his stamp on this game from the jump, showing his dominant presence in the paint and his skillful ways from the high post as some of the guards on Treys For Days were still trying to get in a rhythm early in the game. He would finish with a team high 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin McGovern was his main scoring sideback in the first half, knocking down an early three pointer and helping Treys for Days get out to a 26-20 lead with 3 minutes left in the first half as Leonard and the boys took their first time out.
Leonard and the Boys took each early punch on the chin, continuing to stay within 10 points for the entirety of the first half, and for the most part, maintaining a distance of 4-6 points throughout the first. Early on in the game, most of the scoring and distribution punch came from Nick Rosetti as he knocked down 2 three pointers and dished out 5 assists, constantly finding the ball in his hands and making the right play. While Tim Nikolaev started out the game a bit cold from 3, he was the heart and soul of the team throughout the game, grabbing every loose ball and rebound, and eventually becoming a major scoring threat in the 2nd half, finishing with 11 points.
At the half, Treys for Days held onto an 8 point lead, a lead they would basically maintain for the rest of the game as the closest Leonard and the Boys got was down 40-36 after being down 13 early in the 2nd half. George Penniman and Sean Concannon came alive and led the team along with Rosetti in a spirited run to close the gap to 4, but alas, this was as close as they would get.
In the 2nd half, Treys for Days' incredibly skilled and multi-faceted guards would ratchet up their play to support Thissel both offensively and defensively. Dana Flood flooded the stat sheet after a quiet first half, scoring a smooth 13 points, garnering 5 steals with his pesky defense, and clearing the boards with 7 rebounds on the night - becoming a much needed swiss army knife for Treys. Luke Davidson also picked up his scoring in the 2nd half, finishing with 10 points and 2 three pointers helping Treys for Days maintain their comfortable lead deep into the 2nd half and pushing things back up to a 10 point game. The game would finish with the 10 point margin, 61-51 Final
