What is the name of name of Drew’s second team of the team of the night does anyone know? Would it hurt to get someone with grade school handwriting to check everyone in? There isn’t much low post being played by either team, but Hunkytunk Badunkadunk finds themselves doing a lot hacking and this means Cole’s Crew will be at the line for most of the first half if they can take advantage. Whomever is guarding AJ is doing a terrible job as he knocks down walk up three’s and forces a time out by Hunkytunk Badunkadunk. Jonah has seen enough from AJ and gets a nice block on him as he drives to the lane. AJ is killing these guys from downtown though and it leads to a fifteen-point half time lead Charles has a motor like no one on the court tonight having a killing instinct believing he can take anyone guarding him. His hustle can never be questioned, as I’m writing this he goes crashing into the toys in a basket on the sidelines. After AJ hits his sixth three of the night Hunkytunk Badunkadunk sends two at him to force him to give up the ball but AJ still attempts a shot. AJ rips Jonah clean and runs the break getting Jorge a nice easy layup but they are still down seventeen. Drew get caught napping calls out shit as he see AJ catch the ball and hit another three pointer. Hunkytunk Badunkadunk calls for time to regroup and lets their teammates know even though they are down by twenty-three points they should steal play hard because of the margin of victory that is in play for the playoffs. Looking like they want to throw the game away Cole’s Crew turn the ball over several times in the closing minutes of the second half forcing them to call their last time out. It was a great almost comeback mounted by Hunkytunk Badunkadunk but it was little to late.

Heavers win!! Finally! An incredible game to end the night saw the Heavers win 57-50 in a close game. Heavers had a big lead and were looking safe the whole night, but the game, of course, ended up coming down to the final minute as HunkyTunk made an epic comeback to see the game within 3 points. I guess they fouled the wrong person as they sent George to the free throw line for two separate 1-and-1 trips. He knocked down all 4 free throws in clutch fashion to ice the game and the Heavers got the win. They finally got great performances from both of their best players in Sean and Eli to help spark the win. HunkyTunk gave it their best but they needed to play much better in the first half in order to have a chance.

HunkyTunk took on the Vrabels in the first game of the night and it was a pretty tame affair. Not much drama was delivered, but there were some good performances on display. Preston led the way for the Vrabels yet again with 22 points and 6 steals. Tommy hit 2 huge threes and the big man Mike Brady added 14 rebounds to the tally. HunkyTunk just didn't have their offensive flow this game, Drew and Aidan shot well from 3 but they didn't seem to have their usual flair until very late on in the game when the lead was too big to be overturned. This was a huge win for the Vrabels as they shook off a really tough defeat last week.

You Got Tibbs'D

The turnout for this game was something for sure. By gametime, there was a total of 7 players ready to take the court. 3 for Tibbs and 4 for Hunky Tunk. Two players stayed behind from the 8pm game to help out and someone's little brother or son started the game for Tibbs. He played well too! Eventually just enough numbers rolled in for the game to be competitive and this ended up going down to the wire. I have never seen such dominance on the boards and in the post from a big man in this league. Big man Derek finished with 28 pts and 26 rebounds and led his team to victory. He was helped by Jonathon's 17 points as Tibbs got the win. Incredible shooting nights from Aidan and Othaniel kept the game close as they combined for 12 threes, but it wasn't enough. This was a very fun game to cover. 58-57 You got Tibbs.

Spring 2025 sign-ups are now open! It's not too early to save your spot, the deadline to sign-up and pay is April 18th but leagues will fill up far in advance!

By far the most drama we've seen at the CCC this season as the Quality Shots took on HunkyTunk in what turned out to be an instanct classic. The drama started with a early Tech called on Rich for a two-handed shove on Melo, who completely sold the contact as he dove on the floor. He then decided to get up in the face of Rich for the rest of the game, completely removing himself from helping his team as he was only focused on guarding Rich. This didn't work out well as Rich just started to pass the ball to his teammates for easy looks. While Rich finished with 20 pts, it was his teammates who led the way for the 2nd half scoring frenzy. Alex had 11, Maurice had 9 and Kevin had 20. Kevin was on fire all game. Meanwhile, the HunkyTunk didn't hit shots all game, they finally found some rhythm late on, but it was far too late. Good win for the Quality shots, they are really coming together as a team.
